The Sauder Diaries On Six Sunday – 12 August 2012

From “The Sauder Diaries — By Any Other Name“:

Blackheart burst out laughing. “Did I say that? That is Saint Crispen’s to this rabble. Look, Mister Sauder, I know you have gotten yourself all caught up in the Russian minx’s skirts, but fighting like a madman only gets you killed. You are an excellent fighter, Sauder, but foaming at the mouth and ignoring orders makes you a rabid dog. I need men to fight for me, not dogs.”

“The Sauder Diaries” is an adventure-romance set in Steampunk Victorian-era Europe. The main character, Hans Sauder, is Shanghaied into being a member of one of the most infamous airship crews of the continent.

I love the premise of this book! And I can’t decide if I like Blackheart or if I’m supposed to hate him. Either way, he has a great way of summing up the situation. Well done!

  2. MichelV69 says:

Blackheart was a fun character to write in that book. Ultimately, he’s the badguy by every standard of the day… and he’s just charming enough and makes just enough sense that it’s hard to remember that.
You can read the first chapter for free on Amazon if you’re interested. Please let me know what you think if you do.
