Short Story Snippet On Six Sunday – 11 March 2012

From “YHZ-13 … Beginnings“:

Leaping into the oil-covered sky. Heart pounding. Turbines at full standard power. Focused. Eyes sweeping ahead for others in sky with her. Darting between skyscraper mansions and man-made mountains.

“Beginnings” is a snap-shot story piece written in a future where ambulance services are para-military operations.  This is a snip of one crew’s night in the moments before getting the call of their lives.  You can read the entire thing on the “Library” pages as well as a few others I’ve written.

If you’re not familiar with “Six Sentence Sunday”, swing over to http://www.sixsunday.com/ and take a look. Its a great idea; dozens of authors submitting the punchiest six lines out of existing or soon-to-arrive stories. Browse them; see what hooks you.

Hit the “Six Sunday” tag either at the end of this post or in the tag cloud on this page to see more of these here on “Split Horizons”.
