The last picture is just after three days of having planted the grow beds. This is a close-up of some of the celery sprouts that are coming up through the gravel.
I tried a technique I’ve read him on various blog posts and seeing in various YouTube posts. Instead of planting soil-started seedlings, you just simply broadcast plant some seeds on top of the gravel. Wet them once a day for a couple of days and they will sprout. Eventually the roots will find a way down into the “wet zone” of the gravel. This allows the plants to thrive and allows you to start growing without any soil contamination at all.
So far it looks like everything I’ve planted has sprouted and in a week or two I will post another picture showing what it looks like. Thanks very much for reading my blog if you have a questions feel free to leave comments.
Bye for now!
