Hans’ hand dropped to his sword belt and then he froze. She had suddenly levelled a pistol at him. While he had no idea where she had kept it secreted on her person, it did not very much matter. It was small, made of silver and rosewood, had two barrels side-by-side, and was squarely aimed at his heart.
“Please do not be rash,” she suggested pleasantly. “The last thing I want to do is hurt you, Pirate… but please understand it is still on the list of options.”
