The next three days passed rather pleasantly. Dangerously so, Hans thought. There was a solid physical routine coupled with some kind of daily challenges to his intellect or his character. They forced him to look at everything around him with a sense of sharpness in a way he had not since his early days at the University in Heidelberg. He also had to admit that day to day living with the pirate crew of the Bloody Rose was no worse than life in the Dormitories. Beyond the part where Dormitory-mates were not known to spend time murdering merchantmen with axes and cap-and-ball revolvers, of course.
